Tantalum
Tantalum can be used to produce welded and seamless tubes, and has a wide range of applications. Seamless pipes are manufactured using extrusion, pipe reduction, or deep drawing with plates. The manufacturing method for welding is to first form a plate strip, then make it into a tubular shape, and then weld the seam with gas tungsten arc (GTAW).
Tantalum cannot be processed using the usual methods of processing ordinary metals. Generally, the initial process is forging and heat treatment, using hammering and stamping to produce flat slabs or circular medium and small billets.
